Downtown Georgetown itself is worth a visit. It surrounds one of the best courthouses I’ve seen. The entire experience is well worth a trip.

Visited downtown Georgetown TX to soak up some of the history since its establishment in 1848. The centre piece has to be the majestic courthouse built in 1911 with the copper domed roof. Just across the road is the original San Gabriel Masonic Lodge with its "onion" shaped roof built in 1900 where the lodge continued to meet until 1982 when the building was sold. Check out the photo of the roof ramparts that shows the square & compasses complete with 'G'. Lots of other builds, many original and over 100 years old that still remain but have been repurposed several times.

Love all the lights and different stores I'm the square. Everyone is so friendly. A nice place to walk around and have a drink or eat something. Love the antique buildings and architecture. You can experience history while visiting the square and visiting the Williamson Museum at the square. Is a place for everyone to experience from kids to adults.
