  • This was a really nice experience. You purchase a bag of dirt that has gold flakes in it, you are taught how to pan and sent on your way to the river. Once you get there, you can dig and pan as much.....  more »
  • What a fun experience. The owners were knowledgeable and we had fun talking with her about the surrounding Girdwood area. Just a fun pure Alaskan experience.  more »

  • The property was beautiful and the people were very friendly. We ended up eating dinner there and it was good. Also had live music. I’m not sure if that is a regular thing. It was $10.00 to get in and the meal was $24.00 and if you wanted to pan for gold that’s another $15.00. I don’t recommend the panning, there were several people down there and to my knowledge no one had success. You can go down to the river for your $10.00 admission fee, so unless you just want to say I planned for gold I would recommend skipping that.
  • This place is in the middle of nowhere. A great little slice of earth. It is a small community, it is what it would have been 100 plus years ago. A mining community with great aspirations of making it rich. The cabins as they were from day one. This is located in Girdwood, AK. We spent a hour or two or so walking around enjoying, nature, the river and relaxing. People were prospecting for gold, your not going to strike it rich. It is about enjoying family time with children. .. I didn't see anyone hit rich but did anyone ever, if you could they wouldn't let your mine there. It is geared toward family fun. You can even get married here. I, image it would be a great place to get hitched. LOL... They have a wedding cabin of sorts with an outdoor, alter/church. A great place. An enjoyable place for the entire family. This is what brings family together with lifetime memories. If your in the neighborhood you have to stop.. It is a children based atmosphere with nogistila for the elders. Take minute to look around and see how the mined for gold. I didn't pan for gold. I think ti cost 5 bucks per person. 5 stars.. They are trying real hard to make it worth the trip. Anyone leaving 3 or less stars is a fool in my opinion. Thank you...
