If you want to cross Glacier National Park (not to mention the Continental Divide at Logan Pass), hop in your car for a ride along the 83 km (52 mi) Going-to-the-Sun Road. Along the way, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views of valleys, glacial lakes, waterfalls, tundra, and wildlife. The Jackson Glacier overlook features some of the best views of all. Campgrounds, picnic areas, and lodging are all available along the route--but gas isn't, so fill your tank before heading out. Be aware that some parts of the road may not be accessible, depending on the weather conditions. To find out how to plan a trip to Glacier National Park, use our trip itinerary maker.

The biggest problem is getting road reservation. If you do not have the reservation, you can only travel after 4 PM. This road is worth every second of your time. It has absolutely gorgeous views almost every corner. Mountains, amazing trails, lakes and wildlife everywhere. We drove over this road 4-5 times and every-time we had a great time. Parking is challenge however it is not that bad. We spotted bears near St Mary lake to St Mary Falls. You must have bears spray and stay in group. This is fantastic road.

Great drive, beautiful views, lots of hiking along the way. There's many spots you can pull over to snap views of the mountains. Plus all the various hiking that can be done. I would recommend hiking to Hidden Lake, hike part of the Highland trail from Logan pass, hike to St. Marys/Virginia falls. You truly don't experience the park unless you do some hikes. If you can't you can't but if you can, do it!
