Offering panoramic views of a receding but nevertheless massive glacier, Jackson Glacier Overlook is a popular pull-over site close to one of the park's highest peaks. Hiking is also an option--several trailheads are just a short walk away. If you take a shuttle bus, you will not have to worry about the parking, which fills up quickly. • Jackson Glacier is the 7th largest remaining glacier in GNP. (There are only 25 remaining glaciers in the park compared to 150 in 1850). It is great to be able to still see these but we don’t know for how much longer. We stopped on our way back from the East entrance of the park to the West.
