Virginia Falls, Glacier National Park

#8 of 24 in Nature in Glacier National Park
Waterfall · Nature / Park
One of the most impressive waterfalls in Glacier National Park, Virginia Falls plunges from the height of 15 m (50 ft) against the side of a multi-tiered cliff. Passing several other chutes along the way, the scenic hike to the falls is an attraction in its own right. Half way through you'll come across the photogenic St. Mary Falls, cascading into bluish green pools. Once you tackle the last steepest section of the trail leading to the base of the main falls, you'll be able to feel the blast of refreshingly cold spray that will cool you down even on the hottest summer day. Watch your step on the slippery rocks.
