  • Great combination of fascinating museum visit and a 4 mile hike in forests of oak, madrone, eucalyptus. The Pig Palace was darned impressive. Jack London had so much money pouring in. One of so many.....  more »
  • We got to the park an hour before the gates closed, so we did not have time to see everything, but the ranger at the gate kindly told us to start with the museum, and that would give us a little more....  more »
  • If you liked any of Jack London’s book you must come to this beautiful place to learn more about this extraordinary man with an extraordinary life. Did you know he was one of the first white men to learn surfing? He also had so many love stories, there is a whole book dedicated to his women. If you come on Sun, you might catch a volunteer playing an original 1901 Steinway grand piano that belonged to London’s wife. 🐕 dogs are allowed everywhere except the inside the buildings. $10 🚘 entrance Check out the museum, Jack’s grave, Wolf House and bran ruins, also a cottage ($3 entry, 2-4pm)
  • "I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time." The man lived just as he said and I am glad I could walk the same dirt roads as he. Must visit. Extensive collection of Jack and Charmian's possessions/collectibles. Short hikes (~0.6 miles) to the wolf house ruins and Jack's grave. Closes on time, so be early so that you could spend time.
