Barnard's Mill is located in Glen Rose, Texas. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 9, 1982.

The building is owned by the Somervell History Foundation, and operated as Barnard's Mill Art Museum. The museum's collection include works from Jewell Miears Fielder, Amy Miears Jackson, Robert Summers, Jack Bryant, R. Kleinfelder, Morris Henry Hobbs, Asian and Native American art and artifacts.

    We got a tour from the nicest young man. He really know his history! The artwork was a plus. I loved viewing all sorts of paintings and drawings.  more »

    Nice gallery along with antiques in former mill built in 1860. We were allowed to explore al three floors on our own. Also a large collection of bronzes. Would not recommend for children .  more »

    A charming small museum with primarily Western-themed paintings and sculptures. Happily there aren't many "hillsides covered with bluebonnets" here; most of the art focuses on working cowboy life and wildlife, with a few modern sculptures. The building itself is interesting, having served as the local hospital in the past. Be sure to go in the back rooms, where you see the 19th-century construction with exposed rough-hewn beams. The docents are knowledgeable and very helpful. It's not the Kimbell, and doesn't pretend to be, so plan to enjoy it next time you're in that area.

    An excellent museum that goes on room after room. Some pieces are better than others, but the buildings are amazing. And you'll discover some great pieces if you look closely.
