At Dinosaur Valley State Park you can explore the area once roamed by prehistoric giants and even see their tracks in the ground. The park offers numerous campsites for both modern and primitive camping. You can explore via a network of hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails, and enjoy swimming areas. Park rangers hold workshops where you can improve your skills in fishing, archery, and geocaching. The kids can admire large dinosaur statues. Follow the trails to the riverbed to find dinosaur tracks. The water is usually shallow enough for the tracks to be visible and accessible. • This was an awesome time. We enjoyed our visit here. Took my son down into the water. Saw the dinosaur prints. We would love to go back. I was pregnant and able to navigate down to the water and walk around. Not easy, but definitely possible and worth it. The water was very comfortable and felt nice. The bathrooms are not clean, but people make messes and do not clean up after themselves all over.
  • Excellent state park! Our Cub Scout Pack 896 had an awesome time camping here! This is definitely worth your time for a day trip or overnight/weekend! The dinosaur footprints depend entirely on rain fall and river levels, but we could see many very easily. A ton of very helpful park rangers!
