In 1820, three members of the Padgett family settled on the banks of Watermelon Creek and began a legacy that forged its influence on agriculture, business, and spiritual life in Tattnall County for over 150 years. Once the site of a sawmill, grist mill, turpentine still, barrel making, general store, post office, and the Padgett home place, Watermelon Creek Vineyard flourishes as a testimony to the love, labor, and devotion that the Padgett family dedicated to this area. Now, the ninth generation is continuing to carve out a lifestyle that centers on the abundance of the rural lifestyle, agriculture, and business.Plan to see Watermelon Creek Vineyard and other attractions that appeal to you using our Glennville trip planner.

Very relaxing evening with wine and a meal! Because the weather was nice we ate on the upper deck-I liked that! The food was delicious-and perfectly seasoned and cooked. My husband had salmon and..... more »
So, we randomly googled wineries in the area and stumbled upon this gem. The owners were wonderfully nice. We were not sure what to expect prior to arriving, but the winery is small, charming, and quaint. The tasting was a fantastic experience. The wine itself is muscadine based, so it is generally quite sweet. The owners have incorporated fine dining into their offerings. We had dinner there and the food did not disappoint. It was lovely to see such an upscale dinner available in a small, rural community. We appreciate the small business feel, the down home hospitality, and the overall ambiance of the property. We hope to visit again when passing through the area once more.
Happy Day when we found this gem of a place! The owners have an interesting and educational winery and if you can- try their 11-pt wine tasting and plan on lunch while you are there too!
