Prehistoric Gardens is a roadside attraction located on Oregon's Highway 101 Coastal Route. Founded in 1955 in Port Orford, the gardens feature 23 life-sized sculptures of dinosaurs set among the lush foliage of the area's temperate rainforest. The gardens are the work of amateur paleontologist E.V. "Ernie" Nelson; the site is run by Nelson's granddaughter.

  • Wonderful attraction, so fun! The history of creation to current is really cool to learn about so I highly suggest you dig into the history of the attraction as much as the attraction itself. Gift shop has some really neat things as well. Staff is awesome too.
  • Definitely a gem here! Amazing pieces to view. The lady working was super sweet, we purchased two genuine gem bracelets and they came with little vials of essential oils. They are absolutely beautiful and made locally. I was able to fill my water jug at a nice little drinking fountain right outside. Great place! Would definitely recommend stopping by even if just to take a look!
