Create an itinerary including Mohave Point
Located on Grand Canyon's South Rim, Mohave Point offers beautiful panoramas of terraced cliffs that encircle the Abyss, sandstone plateaus, and meandering Colorado River. One of nine lookout points along the rim, ideal for watching sunset and sunrise, this spot actually consists of several individual overlooks and is never crowded. If you look directly below the point, you'll see a red sandstone mesa with jagged edges resembling alligator's horny scales. The site is accessible from scenic Hermit Road by foot, bicycle, and free shuttle bus. • Great spot to get off the shuttle. Take the trail between the road and the canyon's lip and walk to the next stop (Monument Creek Vista). This is a wonderful uncrowded trail. Do it!

  • This place is easy to reach by the free "red shuttle". There is an overlook with stunning views of the Canyon to the North Rim.

  • 100% the best view in the entire park. You just take the shuttle over and can wait for the next shuttle back making it easily accessible. If you don’t want to ride the shuttle I also saw several visitors taking bikes to the view points. The point was spectacular! I went at sunset to get the most spectacular time at that point. With two great views of the Colorado River below as well as massive and beautiful cliffs and walls of the beautiful red rock canyon!!
  • This stop on the road is my favorite place for watching the sunset. It definitely has the best view of the Colorado river and watching the sunset was spectacular. Don't pass up this view on the south rim. Take the Hermits bus (red line) out to Mojave point and Powell monument for the best view of sunset or sunrise. The busses run every 10 to 15 minutes from the village.
