Dockside Fishmarket is way more then just a place to buy local smoked fish.

We sell fresh and smoked fish, even have local Herring, Whitefish and Trout.

We sell seafood; lobster, crab, scaollops, shrimp and tuna.

We serve some mighty fine Fish n' Chips, we lightly bread with our own breading and deep fry. Also non-fish items.

We also have items in our deli, smoked fish wraps, shrimp cocktail, chicken salad sandwiches and dessert! Wash it down with a local beer or some wine and you get a restaurant meal in a causal deli setting.

But enough about food....have you seen our gifts? We have items big and small, wall art and perfect decor for your living room. We have food items like a homemade vanilla kit and a dark chocolate sauce that is perfect

  • Their smoked fish is excellent. Good place for a sandwich and cup of soup too. We always stop here when in Grand Marais for smoked fish to take home to Minneapolis.  more »
  • We were driving up the North Shore today. I found this place on Yelp and thought it would be a good place to stop for lunch. Bonus: if you check in on Yelp, you get a free cup of soup! We got two fish baskets. One with Superior Whitefish and battered fries and one with Superior Herring and cheese curds. For our soups we got the lobster bisque and the smoked trout chowder. I liked both of the fish baskets. I might have preferred the Herring slightly, but they tasted quite similar. The fries were great as were there cheese curds. Generous portions on the sides as well. Both of the soups were pretty good. I think I had a slight preference for the lobster bisque. This is a great stop for some fresh fish and chips!
  • Probably the best fish and chips on the north shore! Great little spot to grab a quick bite or get something to go. The smoked fish here is really good as well and packs nice for a hike. If you like fish and chips or need something quick you should stop in.
