We’re not the biggest thing in Grand Marais.

Nope. That would be Lake Superior.

Sure, we may be the second-greatest attraction in this grand little Minnesota town, but if you can pull yourself away from the big water (and it’s only 20 steps from our door), you’ll find we’ve got everything you’re looking for. From women’s and men’s clothing, to outdoor gear, to trail maps, camping supplies, or just a cup of Java Moose coffee to enjoy by the shore, Lake Superior Trading Post is Grand Marais shopping.
For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Grand Marais holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Lake Superior Trading Post and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • This might be the best one stop shop for souvenirs, books, gifts, quality outdoor gear and supplies, and some warm clothing in case you didn't prepare for the cold. There's some kitsch thrown in...

  • My wife and I enjoyed the outdoors and we have camped at the BWCAW for three decades or so. Every time we go there we always made a point of visiting this trading post. In addition to souvenirs, the store is quite complete and it carries lots of outdoor gears (and at reasonable prices). The people working there are always friendly and helpful. They also carry a good supply of maps of various routes and entry points to the BWCAW. To those who love the outdoor life, you will find lots of gears you never think you need in addition to eye candies in the store. Check it out for yourself and hopefully you will enjoy browsing (and buying/getting) quality items there.
  • I drove 2 hours to get here and they close Saturdays at 3:00! This was a July Saturday! I wish they would update their hours so search results are accurate.
