  • Presents a fascinating story of how uranium is mined. The mine recreation is really neat. This is well worth the $3 admission cost.

  • I am a mining engineer by training and worked for mining industry all my life. I can say this place is well done and some one put their heart into it. It is very informative and well suited for either one with mining experience and the one without any mining exposure. If you pass by the town, you definitely want to visit this place and will never regret. They only charge a very small fee and offers discount for seniors and children.
  • Super cool! Very underrated museum, in my opinion. If you're staying in ABQ, it's definitely worth the 1 hour drive to see. It's quite a small building, I didn't think there would be much inside, but I was very wrong. It's 2 stories, with the top one having plenty of different minerals, mining tools and the history about them, a movie theatre, and even a section for ancient Native American artifacts such as arrowheads, pottery, and buttons. The bottom floor is what really makes this museum different- you take the elevator down and it opens up to a replica mineshaft, they even have a gate you have to open when you exit the elevator! They did a very good job creating this mine replica- not only does it look and feel like a real one, but you can even smell the oils from the mining equipment. Very well done. Their gift shop selection is a little small I would like to add, but that's not a huge deal in my opinion. Overall, this is a great place for adults and children alike.
