Winterville Mounds is a 42-acre site near Greenville, Mississippi, featuring 12 prehistoric Native American mounds, two large plazas, and a museum. Normal hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

  • Stopped by here because we were I the area. Wouldn’t travel far out of the way to visit. Was a good learning experience. Enjoyable. Lots of history information.  more »
  • Couple of hours to go through museum and walk the mounds. Very impressive size. Large one had stairs to walk to top. Would love to have climbed it. Steps were unsafe and a warning not to use them...  more »

  • Great place if you are at all into historical digs. Small, well done museum and large fields around the mounds. Very friendly local staff.
