Nice to have some nature in the city. It has miles of trails and fishing ponds. The ponds are stock regularly and you do have to buy a fishing permit to fish at the ponds. They also let you camp here but you have to reserve at the park office. The trails can go pretty far along the Tar river. Spring and fall is the best time to come

I stayed at a very nice beautiful drive to site near a swampy pond. I loved the site. There was a little barking from dogs nearby and traffic noise but that’s to be expected. You don’t feel like you are in the city but you are. I did not see any showers hence the rating. I would suggest you to bring firewood it was hard to gather here. Very nice trails. I’m glad I gave it a chance. You really can’t beat the price for the site. I slept well no creepy stuff.
