  • Great place to rent a canoe or kayak. The lady who runs it is friendly and knows how to take care of guests. It is end of season so head over soon. Otherwise wait until next year.
  • Important info b/c their website isn't up to date: you DO need a reservation; pets aren't allowed; you ARE allowed to bring outside alcohol; their snack shack is closed; you are allowed to have as many people as you want in your party (the reservation was unclear and we were worried we could only bring 4 people); umbrellas are a must - get 2 umbrellas minimum if you want to be comfortable; there are bathrooms, but no showers. Overall, we had a great time here. There were a lot of families with kids and it felt like everyone was having a nice, relaxing time. The water was as clean as you'd expect river water to be; there's a lot of non-toxic duckweed on the water, but it completely cleared out once people started swimming/kayaking. The reservation system made it so the beach didn't feel too crowded at all.
