Gulf State Park Fishing Pier attracts avid anglers, as well as tourists interested in seeing marine life. Opened in 2009 to replace the original pier destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the newly rebuilt pier features indoor seating and a retail shop for stocking up on bait and tackle. At 470 m (1,540 ft) long, the pier is the largest on the Gulf of Mexico, offering you more space to fish and look for sea life down below. Watch sharks, stingrays, and jellyfish swimming underneath you and keep an eye out for pelicans and cranes flying nearby. Clean beach. Visited early in the morning on multiple days - before most folks were up and about. It costs $3.00 to park for just 2 hours. The electronic parking payment device does accept credit card payment. Lots of wildlife (mainly Sandpipers, other assorted birds and crabs, etc.) running around...the little kiddos will thoroughly enjoy it.

Beautiful views and nice fishing. Lots of places to sit and take in the views. There is a $3 parking charge (2hrs) that you pay at the kiosk and you have to display at your dash. Entry to the pier is $2 for everyone 13 and over. There are restrooms and they were clean. Sunset is a great time to go. When we went it wasn't that crowded but it was mostly an off season.
