  • Lots of beautiful scenery. Many places for dispersed camping. Starting to get trampled by out of state travelers who either don't know or don't care about camping ethics.  more »
  • The black canyon at Gunnison National Park was amazing! Many spots available for excellent views and photo opportunities. Painted rocks were gorgeous.  more »
  • Did a great hike with my family (wife, daughter 5, son 3, son 2, and daughter 3 months) @ Needle Rock. Gorgeous vistas along the hike. Somewhat challenging hike for the kids with loose dirt and steep trail in areas. My two oldest hiked most of the way (we went .75 mi). I'd suggest getting up there early in the day as it was pretty warm when we went in early September around 11:00 am.
  • We didn't see any wild life, however we had so much fun driving our Jeep through there, just seeing the mountains and old towns and mines. My family loved it!
