We stumbled upon this quite by accident, simply driving along the main/only highway in Kauai. It was a rainy morning but we decided to explore anyways. The price is $20 per person for unguided tours. Initially I felt this was a little steep, based on what I could see from the entrance. By the end of our time here, however, we felt it was worth every bit of that price and more. This is a ancient Hawaiian site where early settlers created an incredible staggered system of living and agriculture. The lush greenery and variety of plants, fruits, and trees make an hour and a half disappear like that! The rain cleared (as if often does in Kauai) and we were able to take stunning pictures. It's a hike to get to the top, but you take your time reading informative plaques and taking in the sights so it's not a challenging hike. Our front desk clerk was the sweetest as well. She even let us borrow rain gear at the beginning of the tour without charge. I have attached pictures I took at the Preserve to illustrate just what a special place this is. Make it a part of your itinerary!
