Rockcliffe Mansion is located in Hannibal, Missouri (USA) and was built in 1898 by John J. Cruikshank, Jr, a descendant of Scottish immigrants, whose fortune was founded on lumber. He erected the residence on West Bird Street. It came to be acknowledged as the most imposing, beautiful and costly residential structure in that part of the state of Missouri. "By reason of its location on a high, rocky eminence, overlooking the entire city [and the Mississippi River], it [was] termed 'Rock Cliff' [later known as "Rockcliffe"], and is one of the many attractions of the city invariably viewed by strangers and tourists visiting Hannibal." It is located in the Maple Avenue Historic District.

  • Warren did a great job with the tour. The house is amazing with lots of ornate woodwork and furniture. It’s a shame that the state or city doesn’t help with the restorations. So expensive to keep...

  • My wife and I had a wonderful experience. The owners are gracious hosts. Juan was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable and witty. Hannibal must be extremely grateful that the owners have and will continue to restore this wonderful mansion. We both highly recommend touring or staying the night. We decided to spend the night, we will be returning.
  • If you like visiting old houses. This is very much worthwhile. Outside is not restored as the pics show. But inside is very interesting. Tour guide was great. They are trying to restore a very interesting building and covid slowed it down. Very interesting and educational.
