FNB Field is a baseball park in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA, located on City Island, in the Susquehanna River. It is the home field of the Harrisburg Senators AA minor league baseball team of the Washington Nationals, as well as the Harrisburg City Islanders soccer club of the USL. The original structure was built in 1987 and it was called Riverside Stadium until 2004. Currently, the ballpark has a capacity of 6,187 people. The ballpark received a $45 million renovation that began in 2008.HistoryFNB Field sits on the exact spot where baseball had been played earlier in the century, where other Harrisburg teams played from 1907 to 1952. The location, City Island, is a 62-acre waterfront park and sports complex. The facilities include volleyball courts, softball fields, a football/soccer field, water golf, nature tails, jogging paths, cycling paths, two marinas, the "Pride of the Susquehanna" paddlewheel riverboat, a food court called RiverSide Village, and a miniature train that runs around the island for tours. The original ballpark is a steel and aluminum structure, and over the course of time, additional seating areas were built along first base, and box seats in foul territory and in front of the grandstands behind home plate to provide additional seating, despite official capacity being listed at over 6,000 since the park's inception. The stadium was used as the spring training facility in the movie Major League II, starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Corbin Bernsen.

  • We've come a long way, baby! Great facility, great environment, great people (although I can't believe my l o n g time childhood friend, Todd Matthews, still holds it all together). We celebrated the sponsors and donors of the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisburg. If you haven't indulged yourself, you are missing out on one of the most elite, multi-faceted, highly functional, eloquently led (by the highly acclaimed Miss Yvonne) organizations to ever have strived and sustained accountability for the less fortunate. If you could only see. For Harrisburg, and surrounding communities served; this institution needs served and funded by donors, sponsors, mentors; volunteers - anyone and everyone who wants to see a viable Harrisburg, future for children with limited access to skills and opportunities, broken homes, a way out, and what it means to pay it forward, and give back in return. The soft skills that are absent, which are instrumental for today's youth. Please, give what you can, when you can. Donate to this amazingly successful organization, and the incredible people staffing its functionality and operations. Hey, it's still a tax deduction, too! (As of this writing). Make it a great day! And, please help others in any way.
  • So nice and clean. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I hope national acts come back as well as local bands, like the good ole days at city island. I wanna Rock!!!!! Thank you Harrisburg Pa.
