  • English Point is one of our regular hikes year round that's not far from home (Coeur d Alene.) There are several loop options of various lengths on either side of the road from the parking area...

  • Really nice area for a quiet weekday walk with our dogs. Nice that they have bathrooms and a variety of trails to choose from. Currently a little muddy in spots.

  • This is a close to town, safe, clean walk in the woods that can be done nearly year round. This is not a hike you do because there's something spectacular but it's very very pleasant and easily accessible. It's got wide enough paths to walk side by side - very family friendly especially with walks between .6 and 3 miles that can be done individually or combined. A lot of dogs are walked here and it seems most owners pick up after them but watch out for the ones that don't. If you have a dog it's worth noting there are no trash cans so you must take it with you when you go. Things like tree blow downs are dealt with quickly and outhouses are kept relatively clean.
  • This is cool place to get a little outside time in close to town. The woods to the west of the road have recently been thinned by the USFS so the trails have a more open feel and some of the trail sections have been merged with the logging roads. They are still fun and scenic. The trails to the east of the road, where the parking lot is are bordered by more trees and undergrowth. They tend to be more crowded than the west section. Included in the east section trails are some really nice views of the Hayden Lake basin and surrounding mountains. All of these trails are worth visiting especially when considering they are so close to town.
