Lone Tree Cemetery is a 42-acre (17 ha), active, nonprofit cemetery, mausoleum and columbarium complex in unincorporated Fairview, California, adjacent to the city of Hayward. The site was first established in 1868. The cemetery has hosted, since 1903, the oldest continuous Memorial Day celebration in southern Alameda County. I really like to explore cemeteries. They're so full of history. This one is particularly peaceful and beautiful. I love the beautiful legend posted under the beautiful "lone" tree. The tree itself is amazing and the story of young love lost (much like Romeo and Juliet) is touching and romantic.
