For views and serenity, Deer Creek State Park remains a worthy drive from Salt Lake City or Heber City. The reservoir is surrounded by mountains, in an area known for good water sport options and fall foliage. Dress appropriately for the time of year, and keep in mind that it will get dark quite early in the winter and/or early-spring months. A visit to Deer Creek State Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Heber City day trip tool to plot your vacation.

I ended up at this park purely by accident. There was some road work going on and I was trying to find a good turn around spot to return back to my hotel. Seeing the landscape from the road I decided I just had to park and take a look around. Well this simple take a look around resulted in me staying for hours. While I only witnessed one side of this park, what I did see was beautiful!!! If you are bothered by chipmunks please keep in mind that a large number of chipmunks called this place home. The views from the “beach” were my favorite. So many different landscapes visible from one spot. Will be returning for some camping in the near future 🤞🏻

This place was amazing! I went kayaking and had a blast! I went all over the lake and parked the kayak, and went hiking a bit. The water was perfect, and the weather was fantastic—small fee for rentals which was cheaper than expected. High recommend you visit and spend the day in the beautiful Park!
