  • I already posted our camping experience over at the McHenry Campground review page. We did venture out a little bit after we got camp set up. Not a whole lot of venturing, but we made it down to the Marina/Rental store. The small convenience store could be better maintained, stocked with items price labeled. It's never fun to have to take a guess as to how much you'll end up paying for something. Plenty of parking in that area, for sure! And looked like a great place for boaters to come and put their boats in the water. We drove around and saw all the fun cabana sites and public beaches. Maybe one day we'll be back to play in the water. Some fun family cabins, though parking for them looked slim and possibly hard to get out of. A few gray water dump stations for RVs. We did pay for a pass to go to the Rock Cliff Nature Center, but upon checking in, we were informed it wouldn't be open until July 1, which was disappointing and we had to "eat" the $10. We hope in the future to be able to visit the updated nature center and the small trails around it as well. We'll be back!
  • Spaces are rather small but the view made up for it. The lake is beautiful and sunsets were nice. Showers are free. Personal watercraft beach was decent. Marina store was great and had what we needed. Camp hosts were very helpful. We spent a week and would definitely return.
