  • Beautiful and easy to access. Quick paved path that takes about 20 minutes with pictures. Well worth the stop. There is a $5 per car fee and bathrooms are available. Kahuna falls was difficult to see ...  more »
  • A mere $5 to park (which includes the entry fee of $1/person if you walk in). We visited on July 4th and it wasn’t crowded at all. Start to the right and walk around the paved walkway (takes about 20-...  more »
  • This “hike” is paved all the way. The plants along the way are beautiful. Very enjoyable walk and a stunning waterfall.  more »

  • Beautiful! The scenery is breathtaking! When it's busy, it's hard to find parking and you might have to park on the road. The walk includes stairs. It's not a difficult walk unless you have trouble with the heat and humidity. The waterfall fall makes it more humid than other places. It feels like a walk in a tropical rainforest! There's a short path to see the waterfall and then go back to your car, but I recommend doing the whole loop! I enjoyed looking at the plants and streams more than the actual waterfall. There are bathrooms near the parking lot. Lots of great photo opportunities!
  • One of the water on Big Island where tourists visit, of course we have to visit. One thing of note is that route 19 on big island is mostly one lane each way, when road works are performed. They block off one direction at a time to let the other direction thru. This makes an 1 hour drive to two. The fall requires a small "U" shaped hike where the waterfall is at the bottom of "U". You'll be done in 15 minutes. Not a lot of crowd which is nice. If you love dense tropical vegetation, you'll love the surroundings.
  • We stopped here on our way to the Volcano national park. It was worth the stop but not a destination by itself. The walk takes like twenty minutes. We took some nice pictures in front of the waterfall. There is not much else around this part of the island that's worth seeing.
  • Such a beautiful waterfall!! If you are not a fan of hikes, this is one to not miss! There are a bunch of stairs and slight elevation change, but the path is all paved. There are 2 falls to see, but one is definitely more impressive than the other. Making one big loop, you can see both falls. Bathrooms are located outside the entrance and parking is limited. Bring a hat because there is no shade.
  • Beautiful place to hang around. It is just a short hike to the waterfall from the parking lot. Well maintenance place and cost $5 for a family. You may need some mosquito repellant in the late afternoon. The waterfall about few hundred feet height, very amazing to watch. It is a tropical rain forest, very humid in the afternoon, bring a lot of water.
