Support local growers at Hilo Farmers Market, which is open daily. The market's 200 vendors sell everything from produce to handicrafts, but the market is also a hub of culture with live music and artists selling their wares. On certain days, locals are invited to rent a booth at a discount and sell their used books, second-hand clothing, and antiques. The market is its own community, and it provides a good way for visitors to get to know the locals. Visit the attraction's website for a list of featured vendors and to obtain online coupons for discounted goods. • This is my favorite farmers market on planet Earth. Between the buy-direct-from-the-craftsman shopping opportunities to the food, this is one of the best hidden gems in the state of Hawaii.

  • I rate the market 5 stars. People are really friendly and kindhearted, they are willing to clean the fruits and berries for you. They are hardworking and responsible. Some of them work from 6 am which is really astonishing. Highly recommend to visit the place and to try local fruits. My favorite is coconut with fresh coconut meat and juice/water. Highly recommend
  • Very kind people with some yummy fruits and veggies! Honey something mango was really good. White pineapple was amazing! As long as it is correctly ripe - the first one we had was not great. Same with mountain apples, some were not ready to be picked let alone eaten, but the good ones were great. Red lychees are much better than brown as well.
