The Institute provides many educational and exciting experiences while you are visiting the park including wildlife watching, boating, paddling, sailing, snorkeling, and much more. Explore the mangrove estuaries or the shipwrecks in the bay and ocean or glide under the waves to see the colorful coral reefs. Visit the uninhabited Florida Keys and walk the natural beaches and trails. There are also picnic areas and restrooms. Join a subtropical island guided tour, camp on an island, or hike the length of Elliott Key.

  • Spending two days with our guide, Castle, from the institute, was the best experience of our trip to Florida. The snorkeling sites he chose on the reef were packed with colorful fish and corals. The.....  more »
  • Captain Jeremy and Jesse took such great care of us on the "small group snorkel/island visit tour". Be sure and book the Biscayne tours early, as they fill up fast. We booked ours 2 weeks before and....  more »
  • This kayaking experience in Biscayne National Park's Jones Lagoon with Captain Teri could not have been better. It was an absolutely idyllic experience. I believe the tour accommodates six people, but somehow we lucked out and were the only two who showed up. They could have cancelled on us, but they didn't and we had a truly magical time. Captain Teri is friendly and knowledgeable. I'm a science nerd, and a big talker, so I asked all kinds of questions about Biscayne, it's wildlife, and the mangroves. Teri answered all of my queries with energy and enthusiasm. She provided several up-close encounters with various sea creatures and treated us to the route less traveled through the wild mangroves. Terri made the entire tour beyond wonderful for us. It's obvious that she loves what she does, and that makes for a great experience for those who tour with her. I very strongly recommend this 3+ hour tour. I didn't want it to end, and would have gladly paid a second time if we could have extended the experience. Take this tour, and ask for Captain Teri when you do!
  • Awesome National park and so glad this part of Florida is preserved for everyone instead of used by real estate/resort hotels. It’s my third time in Miami and I’m so glad we skipped south beach and directly went here. We did the snorkel trip and had two amazing guides. Most of the park is shallow water with coral reefs and there are a lot to see. The water is comparable to PR or Hawaii, much better visibility than beaches close the Miami! It’s definitely worth the 1 hr drive!
