There are so few public marinas these days, you have to love what's available. Black Point is a tidy place with ten working ramps, which are being renovated. It's well maintained over all except for the restrooms. That is a barbaric experience. Hold it if you can, otherwise unleash your feral side. Be extra careful, the tile floors always seem to be wet. God only knows what they do with all the money. Would it kill them to put in some AC? For God's sake, it's the 21st century. The park also has dry and wet slips, conveniently located on the same premises. The ramp area is relatively small with the usual one way traffic flow. Come with patience, especially on mild weather days. It'll be crowded, sure to have that one jerk going against the flow. Kiosk only. Yeah!! Though not necessary, the collection hut is still there like a sore thumb. There's also Point Ocean Grille restaurant. It's a fun place with live entertainment on weekends. You can sit outdoors adjacent to the water. The food is pretty good but sometimes when the wind is just right, you'll get a nice whiff from mount trashmore just down the road. If you heave up your lunch, just blame it on sea sickness. There's a walking trail too. Go to the end for a viewing treat. What a great place to enjoy the outdoors with your pooch. Can easily be 5 stars.

My dear sweet husband and I have date night every month at Black Point Marina to watch the full moon rise. We enjoy a nice dinner, have a couple hours of delightful conversation, and then we sit by the water to watch the moon rise. We swear our undying love for each other and head home by 9:30 pm. We've been doing this for several decades, and we celebrated 35 years this year. We absolutely love Black Point Marina. I would highly recommend this place but we don't want it too crowded for a date night ha ha
