We came to Honolulu the first time in Y2K and since then we came back twice a year. We never miss Fort DeRussy Beach Park, it is nice with beautiful landscape and the beach too

Found it to be less crowded than Waikiki beach. The park has picnic benches and BBQ pits. And ample room to place your blankets out and take a nap or enjoy a good book. Its quiet and calm. Excellent stretch of beach to visit.

This park is great for a lot of reasons. My personal favorite being the sunset view. Also a great spot to watch the fireworks on Friday nights. Big grass area near by with lots of trees for some shade when you need a break from the sun.
