Picnic, walk, run, and have an active day at Kapiolani Regional Park, Hawaii's oldest and largest public park. Just beyond a residential neighborhood and near the beach, this 120 hectare (300 acre) park has large grassy areas, palm trees, and banyan trees. The park, listed on the state's Historic Register, houses an outdoor concert area for over 8,000 people and a zoo. On many weekends local artists showcase their crafts, which you can purchase. Kapiolani Regional Park Reviews

The park is open to the public and is a very pleasant place to walk, rest, or picnic. Lawn mowers and leave blowers may bother you a bit but it is an excellent place to relax and see a little of... more »
The high density hotel and high-dollar stores come to an abrupt stop here at the south end of Waikiki which then provides a graceful lush green lead up to the slopes of Diamond Head. In days of old the Queen's horse track was nearby. Now a days the Waikiki Shell outdoor amphitheatre is next door as is the savanna style Waikiki Zoo. Living just a block away from here I often have had the sensation at night while drifting off to sleep that "...gee....that sounded like a lion roaring - dreams sure seem real..." only to then realize, "wait a minute - that WAS a lion roaring'. Strange jungle sounds happen at night when you live a dozen stories up right night to the zoo.😎🏝🌊
It is a unique place in the world. Why? Because it is a very motivating place to work out and work on your fitness. The amount of people walking, running, doing all kind of exercises is amazing. It all happens in a very relaxed atmosphere. Also for yoga, tai chi and even bow and arrow shooting
