Create an itinerary including King Kamehameha Statue
One of Oahu's most photographed landmarks, King Kamehameha Statue represents the Hawaiian warrior king, great diplomat, and leader who united Hawaiian Islands in 1810 after years of conflict. Sculpted by American artist Thomas Gould, this 5.5 m (18 ft) bronze outdoor sculpture is the most recognized of the four statues commissioned to honor Hawaii's first monarch. Notice the four bas-relief panels on the statue's plinth depicting the scenes from the king's life and his accomplishments. Draped in long lei, the statue features a prominent role in the annual Hawaiian holiday meant to honor the king. • I always try to seek out the history of an area and Hawaii's is most interesting. This is a great photo opportunity and a monument to Kamehameha.

  • Took the Waikiki Trolley and got to spend some time here. Very peaceful area and so much history. If you look closely at the top of the building, you will find the year it was built.
  • Don't walk on the grass! Take a tour and learn the history of King Kamehameha! It is worth it! And, please, for the love of God, no corny DBZ jokes! We went across the street to check out the palace where the Princess was held for treason.
