  • The Bowfin and the museum are a well put together example of how to make history and machines interesting for people of all ages. The sub is well presented as you walk through it and the headphones provided give a detailed account of what life was like living in a tin can under the sea during WW2. The museum further adds to the story explaining in more detail how the subs functioned and kept track of their successful missions. There are great stories of the bravery of submariners during the early and the importance of the task that they had to undertake for the allied offensive. It closes at 17.00 so get their before 15.00 to get a good run at both exhibits. If this is useful please like!
  • Self guided by tour. It's hard to believe that 80 man crew could be living in such close conditions & do what they did! My grandson loved climbing in & through it! His great grandfather was on a similar sub, the Tilefish. Great history lesson.
