Buckstaff Bathhouse, a traditional bathhouse, offers massages and treatments centered around its mineral-water source. Opened in 1912, the Neoclassical building houses a series of baths that are visited in a circuit. The first floor is reserved for men and the second for women. You'll be given linen, towels, and a locker in which to keep your things. Be sure to bring along your bathing suit because the bath circuit, or a series of baths, are shared spaces. This was definitely different than anything I've experienced before. But it was a lot of fun. And the girls that work there were working their tails off and very attentive.

We loved our experience at the last traditional bathhouse! We were warned ahead of time that it would be an 80 minute wait but there was magazines I could read while I sat. The treatments were nice and relaxing. It does seem like they are understaffed and some of the ladies were busting it to get it all done. I would recommend going to the museum first in the national park visitor center so you can know a little more about the experience.

*HONEST REVIEW* Too long to read: Great experience! Lots of down time. Nice attendant. I gave 4 stars because of the wait time. We got there at 12pm on a Saturday, walk ins only, first come first serve. We were the first in line for ticket sales at 1:15pm. My attendant Shadow was super nice and helpful. My whirlpool bath was 20min, sitz bath was about 10min, 4min open steam cabinet, then a 10min wait to do the hot packs for 15min. The only part I was disappointed in besides the down time was the hot packs. They were towels soaked in boiling hot water that cooled off very quickly. I loved being offered small cups of ice water the whole time. Worth $40 for the only true traditional hot springs experience!
