This 50 km (31 mi) scenic drive wends its way through the towering redwoods of Humboldt Redwoods State Park, home to the biggest group of virgin redwoods in the United States. Follow the avenue through the dark and looming forest alongside the Eel River, and catch glimpses of ferns and douglas fir. Stop at the visitor center for information and exhibits about the wildlife along the avenue and see the drive-thru tree. The avenue provides access to numerous hiking trails. This is a must drive. The redwoods are so beautifulThe size of the trees are amazing and the bark is so pretty. It’s just a peaceful drive and some great easy walking trips.
