Hunter Mountain, Hunter

#1 of 6 in Winter Sports in Catskill Region
Hunter Mountain isn't just the Catskills' premier winter destination.... it's become one of the Catskill's best four-season resorts. Close to the heart of all that made the Catskills America's first vacation destination, Hunter is located in the beautiful mountaintop region of the Northern Catskill Mountains.

Miles of state hiking trails lead to breathtaking views of the Hudson Valley and the surrounding peaks. The highest fire tower in the state is a moderate hike from the summit of the Skyride. Waterfalls abound, including the highest cascading waterfall in the state. The area terrain is ideal for fishing, camping, mountain biking and many other outdoor adventures.

  • Went to Taste of Country Music festival. Sheriffs Department deputies were very nice and very helpful. The Security Company that was hired were polite and helpful. They did there job very well. We personally saw a few instances that they handled very professionally and quickly. 1 of which was involved the State Troopers who were equally professionally. However the security in Blue shirts did not in my Opinion do a very good job. There was a fight between 2 girls in front of her. The crowd was pushing in. Someone yelled for them and asked if they were going to help. They did not! My daughter is fine and with the help of someone behind her she was pulled away from the fight. The people in Blue shirts should I believe be following the rules as they other company.
  • The views were incredibly beautiful. The ride up and down the mountain was alot of fun. The only problem was we had to leave. I would give 10 stars if I could. Love the Hudson Valley
