  • I decided to go to Lincoln Caverns with my family on the way home from vacation. I have been to other caves so I knew generally what to expect but Lincoln Caverns actually surpassed my expectations by far. We arrived and paid for our tour, which was about $50 for 2 kids and 2 adults. There are tours departing every 30m so we didn't have to wait long. I still wasn't expecting anything amazing bit once we entered the first cave I was flabbergasted. The caves are unbelievable. Pictures hardly do it justice. The size of the cave complex, the number of formations, and the level of access is superb. You actually get to walk right beside, below, and around amazing formations. The tour guide will tell you not to touch anything but you still have a level of closeness that I have never seen at another cave. The guides were great, also, very knowledgeable about the geologic processes and the history of the caves since discovery. I cannot stress enough how great the caves are and how close you actually get to all kinds of formations. This is a new favorite for my family!
  • My daughters Girl Scout Troops had stopped at Lincoln caverns on our way home from a Raystown Lake weekend. It was a perfect way to end a great weekend. This was my 1st time visiting Lincoln caverns & I must say I was very pleased. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative and she was able to Corral all of the girls and keep them quiet when they needed to be but also allowed them to do a little guided exploration as well. After we were done going through both of the caverns, the troop panned gems. Initially we thought that maybe the girls would be a little too old to enjoy this (they all were between the ages of 11 -13) but we were wrong, they all loved it. I remembered panning for gems at a couple places when I was a kid & I never got nearly as many gems as they did. Let's just say that you definitely get your money worth at Lincoln Caverns. There is also a gift shops death has many unique and everything is very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend stopping at Lincoln caverns if you're looking for something to do with your family or with your children
