Camden Park is a twenty-six acre amusement park located near Huntington, West Virginia. Established in 1903 as a picnic spot by the Camden Interstate Railway Company, it is one of only thirteen trolley parks that remain open in the United States. Whereas most trolley parks were located at the end of trolley lines, Camden Park is unusual in that it was built where riders traveling between Huntington and nearby cities would stop to change lines. Not long after opening, the park soon gained a carousel and other roadside attractions. Camden Park is West Virginia's only amusement park. The park is home to more than thirty rides and attractions, including a full-size traditional wooden roller coaster, the Big Dipper, and several other vintage rides.Arrange your visit to Camden Park and discover more family-friendly attractions in Huntington using our Huntington road trip planner.

Today, the park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including live musical performances as part of the "Hot Summer Nights" concert series. Other events include the "Children's Festival," "Coca-Cola Days," and the "Halloween Spooktacular." The park is typically open six days a week from late May to early August, with a more limited schedule in late August, and select dates in September and October.

Camden Park is a small, family oriented theme park. If you are looking for giant giga-coasters and thrill rides, this place isn't for you. If you are looking to have a fun and relaxed afternoon with your family, THIS IS THE SPOT! The park is affordable even for a large family. There are plenty of things to do and rides to enjoy. Park is as clean as any other amusement park, and the restrooms are acceptable. Food served in the park is decent and not too expensive. Lines are short and move quickly.

I enjoyed Camden Park more than Six Flags, and Kings Island! As a child you get to do more with friends and family, and as an adult you get to make real memories. You are not rushed along to get in line again. That's a huge plus when you are on a date with someone who has children. You also get more time alone with your date per ride! The food was really good for the prices. I don't remember leaving king's island without being sick to my stomach, or cramped? I would recommend anyone go here before trying to spend a lot more for entry to a park that isn't as fun for everyone.
