  • Something different a museum that readily evokes local history. Quite fascinating and easy to wonder around to soak it all up. Donations, no admission fee.  more »
  • This museum offers inside and outside displays depicting early life in the area. Inside offers a look at equipment for farming/ranching and items used in daily living. Out side has farming equipment....  more »
  • Excellent local museum. Says it's about Irrigation but so much more to offer. A collection of "homesteader" houses, school houses and old school farming machines. Knowledgeable staff and a real passion for local history. Strongly recommend a visit if you are in the areas and as a detour from further afield.
  • I only had time to enjoy reading 2 exhibits in the museum, because I spent most of my day wandering around enjoying the outdoor festivities during the Threshing Bee. The 2 exhibits I had the pleasure of viewing each summarized the story of true pioneers of the great northwest. The feats they achieved in their day were truly inspiring! While I wish I had more time to view the museum, I equally wish I had the time to enjoy the festivities outside longer! I grew up on a ranch operating equipment ranging from an old crank-start Allis Chalmers, John Deere, Ford, Case, New Holland, and Vicon to name a few. I harvested hay, cut wood, cleaned ditches, made new roads, and many more things, but I never knew tractors could be used for so many things! You have not lived until you have eaten bread made from freshly harvested corn and wheat cooked in a Dutch oven coupled with vine ripened and homemade-butterred corn on the cob steamed by an old steam powered Case tractor, while listening to the music of a steam Caliape powered by the same tractor and watching others compete in tractor pulls, demonstrations, and even a trip to the tractor balance beam! I only have two regrets about my visit. First, I should have made use of the pamphlets available so I could have prioritized my available time there. I regret not finding certain the homemade pies!!! Second, I truly wish I had more time! I now realize that there is much I missed. I think attending for the second day would have been worthwhile, and my next trip there will be planned with these things in mind!
