This museum was so much fun, beautiful grounds and a true learning experience! Our family enjoyed the time spent here. The grounds are beautiful, covered in huge trees with lots of shade, a small lake with a few picnic tables, ducks, roosters, squirrels and more! Actual wood homes lived in by the Houston family and the Steamboat house, that once a year on July 26 (anniversary of his death) you can actually walk inside and learn more about him from the storytellers in each room.

While in Huntsville the family and I visited Sam Houston's house. Where he passed away from pneumonia. Funeral was in the same house. Interesting and very peaceful bit of history. Was pretty interesting to walk the same path he did, touring his property. Texas History! #SamHouston #Huntsville #Texashistory
