This is one of our favorite places to go for a fun day. We get a family pass each year. My daughter loves the children's garden and the butterfly house. She could stay all day in the gardens outside playing and I love the fact that we can pack a lunch and bring it in with us. The bathrooms are always clean. The staff is very knowledgeable. And we recommend at least three to four hours to enjoy the whole property.
We won 4 tickets through work to visit the botanical garden and we purchased 2 extra for our visit for 6. The weather was hot but in the shade it was lovely with a breeze. The gardens were just so very beautiful. We all enjoyed our walk through and especially liked the bigger than life insects, animals and flowers that gave the place an "Alice in Wonderland" feel. Some of the res Chinese lanterns were still up and they looked very appealing. The water features throughout were nice as were the walking trails. The butterfly house was nice and we noticed they had a party room. There were some wedding receptions going on in the main lobby by the entrance as we came through but that didn't impede our visit at all. Parking was still good with all of that going on. The gift shop was nice. We bought water at the guest check in although there were drink machines around the walking path and a water fountain at the butterfly pavilion. We will definitely be back for a visit around Christmas as we have been told the lights are wonderful. This was a great place to slow down and enjoy nature's beauty!
