For an inside look at the production line of a popular chip brand, take Cape Cod Potato Chips. The self-guided tour allows you a glimpse inside the packing line as all the work goes on behind large viewing windows. Signs explain what is happening at each step. From potato to chip, you can watch the processes that go into creating the final product. See potatoes being cleaned, sliced, fried, and then sorted and salted according to the different flavors. The tour ends with a free bag of Cape Cod potato chips. Cape cod potato chips was a great place to tour. We caught them at a bad time though since they were remodeling the tour experience. We were able to see some of the production but not all since they were remodeling. (They said that they were going to be done with the remolding May 2019) They were very nice people and we got a small bag of chips!!! They also said that with this remodel tourist would be able to be in with the production.
I just tried the new Cap Cod "Thins" . That is good name for them because the bag was 1/4 full . They taste like any other cheap potato chip.. Talk about over salted, yikes. The bag sure is pretty . I do like the original Kettle Chips. But skip buying these thin ones, just buy the original Kettle ones. I guess they have to try new things. 04/28/17 I came back to update this post. I tried the chips again and they taste OK. I probably rushed to critique them so hard. The original Kettle ones are still the best 01/31/2019 Just bought the Salt and Cracked Pepper Chips. Yikes talk about onion and garlic taste. Who ask for onion and garlic in a cracked pepper chip. I should have read the ingredients. Every time I deviate from an original product into another of their creations, it never goes well. I better stick with the ORIGINAL Cape Cod.
