  • Very pretty lake especially if you go above it. True magic is continuing past the snow field up to lasagne flats. But be careful. Tired legs can struggle with all the rocks as you go back down.
  • Wow! The perfect challenge. I visited in early November and the weather was gorgeous. Cold with a little bit of snow, snow on the ground, no wind. After many breaks, we were able to make it to the top. It wasn’t nearly as crowded as everyone said and we went around noon on a Sunday. Bring a pen and $5 cash to pay for parking!!!!! Best tip I saw. Although we slipped a little in the icy parking lot, my friend and I had no problem has beginners hiking in our basic boots and sneakers. Just be careful — the drive up and down to the glacier’s parking lot/starting point is quite icy and windy so we had to go really slow. Would not recommend it after sunset.
