  • Stunning views of the lakes. Bring your warm clothes. Short, easy hikes make for stunning photographs. Yellow bellied marmot and Big Horn sheep were sighted. The road to Mt Evans was closed this day.  more »
  • This is a beautiful lake in the mountains. It's sits at 13,000 feet in elevation, so move slowly and take deep breaths if you decide to walk around. The water is clear and there is snow still clinging to the crevices - in September. The drive up is beautiful and you end up above the treeline. It's like a different world up there.
  • Incredibly scenic location around this alpine lake on the way to Mount Evans. Lots of wildlife including mountain sheeps/ goats to observe. Breathing could be a bit difficult due to the high altitude. Crystal clear waters, nice clean facilities and plenty of parking. Bring warm clothes as it was very cold even in the dead of summer.
