Imagine your toes in the sand, a fantastic bottle of wine nearby, a gourmet meal in hand and first-class entertainment with your friends and family before you...all while basking in a perfect Lake Tahoe sunset. You’re not dreaming, you’re experiencing the enchantment of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor State Park.
Our 2013 season commences with an exhilarating production that features gorgeous costumes, stunning sets and one of the most talented professional acting companies in the West!
Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is sure to enchant the entire family. An exhilarating night of midsummer madness, this magical comedy brims with mistaken identity, mismatched lovers and mischief-making fairies. Boldly inspired by the marvelously mod influences of a rock ‘n' roll infused 1960s London, our production of Shakespeare's comic masterpiece ensnares two pairs of lovers and a rustic troupe of would-be actors in a magical-mystery tour de force. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a joyful celebration of love lost, transformed, and restored that casts a powerfully pleasing spell on audiences of all ages.

Came here for the summer and it was unbelievable. Be sure to wake up nice and early because space does fill up queickly and the rangers will start turning people around. We got there at 7:00 am and there was a long line of cars waiting to go in. However it is worth the wait. Parking Fee is $10. The water temperature was perfect and very clear. My family and I had a blast here. There is also restrooms, a gift shop and a bar. The prices in the gift shop are cheaper than I expected. They have awesome great souvenirs. Highly recommend coming here before summer ends.
We've been going to the festival since '99. With good support from the Nevada State Parks, the Shakespeare Festival board and staff have done a fantastic job of upgrading the experience - comfortable seats, great concessions, a beautiful stage, a mellifluous sound system, and of course a pristine lakeside setting in azure-wrapped Sand Harbor. ...Makes summer's welcome, thrice more wished, more rare...
