Kitchen Kettle Village, Intercourse

What began as a home business in a two-car garage has grown into Kitchen Kettle Village. The village experience includes a series of 40 boutiques that sell local, handcrafted goods. You'll discover that each shop is locally owned and sells locally made wares including food items, leather goods, furniture, and clothing. You'll even find a carriage ride service. However, the Pennsylvania Dutch attraction has its origins in old-fashioned home cooking, and the Canning Kitchen restaurant and cafe serves treats from the pantry. • The people are friendly. The prices overall are reasonable. There are a few expensive places there. I was a little shocked to see a quilt for a bed for over $1,000.00. In regards to the quilts you might be better off simply looking like I did. Most of us poor folks can't afford that high of a price. They have a lot of other reasonably priced places however and food places too. It also has an area there for AAA buggy rides if you want to go. I didn't go on that one yet so I can't really say how they are to be honest. I didn't have time to see all the shops, but was told there are about 40 of them. If I can manage to make it up there again I can write more.
  • Kitchen Kettle Village is a must do. It is the stop on your trip that ties together the best of both worlds. Lancaster County charm and hospitality combined with the culture of the "English," (as we are referred to by the Amish and Mennonite cultures. Whether you want to shop, eat, take a buggy ride, or even stay at a quaint inn, Kitchen Kettle has all of it - pretty decent winery, too. The charm and people make it what it is. This is a favorite stop for my family and I. It never disappoints.
