The shop opened in 1912 and was located where the College of Charleston Bookstore is now. Brauer’s Bike & Hobby rented bicycles to sailors with a motor attached to them.
The shop closed but after collaborating with Dave Jarman, Port City Moped LLC was formed and will serve the low country as its premier moped rental & sales company. . . . Our ultimate goal is to provide a safe, fuel efficient moped for individuals that are looking for a reliable means of transportation.

Jordan is very knowledgeable about scooters. He guided us on decisions about the best one that would fit our needs. In addition, his instructions to get around the island we’re very helpful and his recommendations on places to eat were great. I highly recommend Port City mopeds. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon touring Sullivan Island.

I come here once a month with my family and friends, and Port City Moped is the only place I would rent scooters and golf carts. The location is very convenient. The prices are a steal for how much enjoyment you get out of the experience and the time you get! Jordan is very cool and friendly and ensures you enjoy your time, definitely recommend!
