The Museum of the Earth is a natural history museum located in Ithaca, New York. The museum was opened in 2003 as part of the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI), an independent organization pursuing research and education in the history of the Earth and its life. Both PRI and the Museum of the Earth are formally affiliated with Cornell University. The Museum of the Earth is home to Earth science exhibits and science-related art displays with a focus on the concurrent evolution of the Earth and life.

  • This museum advices to allow 1 hour for the visit, but it takes 2. It walks through all the geological eras,showing highlights of each, and simulated videos of some of the events, making you feel...  more »
  • There are only 2 floors with most of the exhibits on the lower level. There are some interactive exhibits and kids corners in the different rooms. Nicely laid out with a focus on New York State.  more »

  • Great museum to go with the family. Our grandchildren and adult family members enjoyed the hands-on activities. A good educational experience for all of us!
  • I took my kids to the museum. I loved how they have a kids area with toys and books and Hands-On activities. Absolutely wonderful we will be returning
