  • This loop is our favorite short walk in the park…fairly level, beautiful reward (Phelps Lake). This time the river trail section was closed due to bear activity.

  • Beautiful!!! Friendly and helpful park rangers. Nice library, including books for kids and you can take a book out to the rocking chairs and read. Not a lot of parking, so go early or be prepared to queue. Options to refill water. Good trails. Bring bear spray! We saw a bear 15 yards from the trail near the lake.
  • Did the Lake Creek Trail. Beautiful easy hike. Bring bear spray and don’t hike alone! Saw a black bear past the second bridge. Bathrooms and visitor center were both closed.
